Book Review: The Secret Keepers of Old Depot Grocery

Last year, when a new split time author shared the link to apply for her launch team, I took a chance and signed up. I usually only apply for launch teams for authors I know and love, but I’m so glad I made an exception. Amanda Cox is now on my “known and loved” authors list, and her second novel is every bit as incredible as her debut.

The Secret Keepers of Old Depot Grocery is the story of three generations of women who are each hiding secrets both past and present in an attempt to protect the family they love. But instead of helping, those secrets are driving them apart. When the truth begin to come to light, will it destroy or heal a hurting family?

The setting for this story is perfect. I can see Old Depot Grocery so clearly in mind. I also love the family dynamics. Each woman struggles with her secret, yet they are so similar – much more similar than they realize.

Although this family has been filled with tragedy, the ending is hopeful and sweet. The struggles the women face are so relatable, and the relationships among the three are realistic. If you love family stories or split time books, don’t miss this!

You can find out more about Amanda Cox at her website. You can also check out my interview with her from last year about her debut novel. Her new book releases on September 7.
